PRONOUNS: THEY / HE / SHE
Welcome.
I am a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and certified as a counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. I obtained a master's degree in creative arts therapies (specialization in drama therapy) from Concordia University, in Montreal QC.
At Earthbound Psychotherapy, it is my goal to create a working relationship that feels safe, collaborative, and effective.
I support individuals seeking a more positive relationship with themselves and others, to cope better with stress and change, and to lead lives that are more congruent to their needs and values. I frequently work with adults who identify as LGBT2SQIA+ or who are exploring their gender, sexuality, or relationship preferences. My approach is informed by both my clinical experience and my lived experience as a queer and nonbinary person. I invite exploring problems with curiosity, compassion, and playfulness.
In my approach, I integrate diverse modalities and perspectives, including narrative, somatic experiencing, and drama therapy approaches. I also gravitate towards psychodynamic and attachment theories (inviting exploration of how past relationships and experiences have influenced your present). How we ultimately work together will be tailored to your unique circumstances and person.
I operate from an anti-oppressive and trauma-informed stance, actively considering how systemic issues of power, privilege, and oppression may influence the lives of those I work with and the therapy experience.
My practice is affirming and supportive of gender, sexual, and relationship diversity (including kink/fetish and polyamorous communities and experiences).
I aim to provide services from a place of cultural humility and, in support of client's autonomy and self-determination, I am guided by principles of informed consent.
I embrace continuous learning. In order to maintain and enhance my professional knowledge and skills, I regularly engage in training, consultation, self-reflective practices, and other learning opportunities.
